Al-Burtasi Mosque & Madrasa
A façade on the river, and the slenderest minaret in the city.
A mosque and a teaching college in one, endowed by Issa ibn Omar al-Burtasi. It sits on the wall of the Abu Ali river, so its façade was designed to be read from the far bank: ablaq courses, an arched window, and a minaret drawn thinner than any other here.
